The GMC Sierra 1500 has an available CarbonPro Truck Bed that’s tougher than any truck bed out there. After some new testing, it’s been determined that the CarbonPro Truck Bed can handle almost anything that nature throws its way.
GMC has torture-tested the CarbonPro truck bed, which means they forced it to endure 1,800 pounds of gravel, loads of cinder blocks and dumped massive steel drums full of water onto it. Since the bed is so tough, those didn’t leave a lasting mark, but they still wanted to know if the bed could survive unscathed during a Category 1 hurricane.
You’ll be impressed to find out that the CarbonPro Truck Bed did, in fact, survive those conditions with ease. It’s able to survive all of these hard conditions thanks to the carbon fiber’s rebound efficiency, which deflects the energy of an impact rather than absorbing it. Other brands’ truck beds weren’t able to survive the same tests — they were left full of scratches, dents and holes.
In addition to staying strong even in the strongest elements Mother Earth offers, the CarbonPro is lighter compared to the conventional steel truck bed. That allows its maximum payload capacity to be even larger. This bed even comes with an extra square foot of storage space, compared to the Sierra’s standard bed.
