The all-new 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali is set to receive GM’s innovative hands-free Super Cruise technology. This advanced feature will be available when the truck hits dealerships later this year.
The Super Cruise system is a huge breakthrough in self-driving tech. When the feature is activated, your 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali will steer itself down roads and highways that are compatible with the system. Super Cruise also ensures that your attention remains on the road by sounding an alert if it detects your eyes wandering. It can also intuitively switch control back to you if a stretch of road is deemed unfit or in the event of a potential accident.
This incredible system is made possible thanks to its use of multiple sign-reading cameras, Adaptive Cruise Control, lane-centering technology, and access to a map that charts over 200,000 miles of highway across the United States.
Super Cruise is also set to make trailering an easier task. When released, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali will officially become the first truck that will allow you to use Super Cruise while driving with a trailer. Hauling work equipment or camping gear will be an entirely new and better experience.
The American University Kogod School of Business and Cars.com each ranked vehicles based on how American-made they were. The studies found that GM produces the most American-made models in the automotive industry, helping to bring more jobs to the U.S. and boost our economy.
The American University Kogod School of Business evaluated models in its Made in America Auto Index. It specifically looked at the final assembly location and key components’ production. GM had 10 models make the index’s top 25 list for 2020, which is more than any other automaker. GM also had the top ranking for total domestic content in 2020.
Cars.com rated 91 vehicles in its American-Made Index for 2020. It took into consideration the final assembly location, percentage of Canadian and U.S. parts, U.S. manufacturing employees compared to each automaker’s footprint, and country of origin for available transmissions and engines. Once again, GM had the most models make the list, coming with nine of the top 25 vehicles. The Chevrolet Corvette earned the eighth spot overall, making it the highest-ranked GM model.
In the U.S. alone, GM has invested over $27 billion since 2009. Since 2010, GM has been responsible for more than $1 of every $4 that U.S. automakers have invested in the U.S., according to the Center for Automotive Research.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers even more functionality with the addition of the new Multi-Flex Tailgate, along with increased capability to make trailering even easier. The 2021 Silverado is on track to be the most versatile Silverado to ever hit the road.
The Multi-Flex Tailgate has six opening functions that make bed access easier and offers many loading options. The tailgate has a load capacity of 375 pounds, and you can configure it into a bench or step. You can even use it to extend bed length and stack heavy objects like lumber and cement blocks. The Multi-Flex Tailgate will be available on all 2021 Silverado 1500 models.
Improved efficiency engines and trailering technology
The 2021 Silverado has upped the trailering capability for the 2.7-liter Turbo and 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engines. The 2.7-liter mill can tow up to 9,600 pounds, while the turbo-diesel engine now maxes out at 9,500 pounds. On top of that, new alerts for trailer length and jack-knifing have been added to the trailering package, along with enhanced views of the bed and sides of the truck.
If you stay on the pulse of all things pickup, you probably know that the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are frequently updated to stay fresh for truck lovers with evolving capability and technology needs. According to the industry insiders, the two beloved General Motors trucks have some major updates on the way.
Initial rumblings about updates to the trucks actually predicted that the changes would be for the 2021 model year. Unfortunately, due to global supply chain and production issues that affected the automaker, the refresh is now expected for the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
For those curious about what changes might be coming to the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and 2022 GMC Sierra trucks, GM Authority suggests looking no further than the recent updates made to the newest Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon. These models were refreshed for 2021 and include a number of high-tech features and luxury touches.
While similarities between the recent Suburban/Yukon updates and the upcoming Silverado/Sierra refresh are only rumored for now, it’s likely a safe bet to assume there will be some similarities. The Suburban and Yukon were upgraded to include new features like a heads-up display, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment centers, and an all-digital instrument panel.
Keep up with Fuller Chevrolet GMC Truck to be the first to know about updates to the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and 2022 GMC Sierra.
The new 2021 Colorado and Canyon are being offered with a 2.8-liter inline four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. This is a very popular engine worldwide. The pickups also feature non-diesel options including the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 LGZ and the 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder LCV. Production was halted in the spring by the COVID-19 pandemic, but everything is now back on schedule for the fall.
Taking Orders for US-Built Trucks
Despite pandemic-related production delays, customers are now able to order a diesel-powered 2021 Colorado and Canyon. Orders for customers opened on July 15 and production began in late June 26 at GM’s Wentzville plant in Missouri. These diesel pickups will be the first U.S.-built GM vehicles made for the 2021 model year.
Changes are planned for both the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon in future generations. A third generation of the trucks is planned to be available for the 2023 model year.
Chevrolet recently introduced the 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition, a striking truck with a wide range of features. Pairing with the Carhartt brand, Chevy first introduced a Silverado HD Carhartt edition back in 2016 at the SEMA show — however, the production model has been in the works until now. We can’t wait to see this truck on the road.
The features on the 2021 Carhartt Special Edition model include a Mosaic Black Metallic exterior, Carhartt badging, all-terrain tires, a Carhartt-branded tonneau cover, tow hooks, and other practical amenities. There’s also two-tone leather seating on the interior. The new special edition model is built the features you’ll find on the Silverado 2500 LTZ crew cab with a Z71 off-road package. This includes skid plates, Hill Descent Control, and specially tuned Rancho shocks.
“This truck represents a true collaboration of our brands coming together to create a durable, purpose-built truck for people who not only work hard on the jobsite, but also live a rugged lifestyle,” said Janet Ries, the VP of Marketing at Carhartt.
You’ll be able to drive the 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt sometime soon, as this truck is scheduled to hit the market in the fall of 2020. The Carhartt and Chevrolet partnership is just one of many that lets the Chevy brand offer truly unique special-edition models to its customers.
